McDermott Snags Three Bracewell Lawyers for New Houston Office
McDermott Will & Emery has hired three lawyers from Bracewell & Giuliani for its new Houston office.
Making the move are energy lawyers Robert Stephens, David Locascio and Jose Luis Vittor, Texas Lawyer reports. Managing the office will be McDermott intellectual property lawyer Fay Morisseau, who will move from California.
Paul Pantano, who chairs McDermott’s energy practice in Washington, D.C., told Texas Lawyer it’s important to have an office in Houston because it is the center of the nation’s energy business. Some clients have asked for lawyers there, he said.
The firm plans to eventually place 30 to 50 lawyers in the office, who will focus not only on energy but also on mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property work. Morisseau has already tried IP cases in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas.
