An unidentified summer associate in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown may have swine flu, and another is showing possible symptoms of the H1N1 virus, although this has not yet been confirmed, reports Above the Law.

The law blog provides a copy of an internal law firm memo circulated in the firm’s Chicago headquarters about the situation and says an unidentified Mayer Brown “spokesperson” confirmed the news but provided little or no additional detail. The memo says the two ill associates are under medical care and will be staying home, and their office mates have also been instructed to stay home for the rest of the week as a precaution.

The memo urges anyone with flu-like symptoms to stay home and seek medical care. It also asks them to contact the firm’s director of administration and return to work only after they receive “medical clearance” to do so.
