Partners at Mayer Brown will vote in mid-April whether to elect Herbert “Bert” Krueger as its new chairman.

The law firm’s policy and planning committee has slated Krueger to replace James Holzhauer, who announced last month that he is resigning to address health issues, the National Law Journal reports. The firm’s website says Krueger focuses his practice on private equity funds, ERISA matters and executive compensation issues.

When partners vote on Krueger, they will also be asked to eliminate the firm’s “troika” style of leadership featuring a chairman and two vice-chairs, the story says. Instead, partners will be asked to approve just a single chairman to lead the firm.
