Marshals arrest open-carry advocate carrying rifle outside courthouse
U.S. Marshals arrested a man outside the federal courthouse in Spokane, Washington, who was carrying a rifle slung across his back.
Anthony Bosworth told law enforcement agents he was exercising his Tenth Amendment rights, while a woman who was taping the incident said he was exercising his right to bear arms. KXLY, which covered the incident, described Bosworth’s weapon as an “AK-style rifle.”
Bosworth maintains the law banning firearms in federal facilities doesn’t apply to the area outside such buildings. His wife says he was only issued a citation, identified by supporters as a citation for “failure to comply,” the Examiner reports.
The Patrick Henry Society identifies Bosworth as “co-organizer of Arms Expo 2015.” He is also planning to run for sheriff in Yakima.
