March was a good month for legal-sector jobs, data indicates
The legal sector added 2,000 jobs in March, according to new data from the U.S. Labor Department.
The number was the highest one-month gain in the sector in nearly a year, the Am Law Daily reports. The total number employed in the legal sector was 1,126,900 in March, a gain of 9,000 jobs over the previous time last year, according to the story and the Wall Street Journal Law Blog (sub. req.).
Revised numbers show the legal sector lost 700 jobs in February and 2,400 jobs in January. At its pre-recession high, the legal sector had 1.18 million jobs.
