Man blows nearly 6 times legal drunk-driving limit after passenger blows whistle
An Iowa man is facing a misdemeanor drunken-driving case after a passenger in his car told Iowa City police he drove off the road Friday and hit a street sign before making it home.
Officers responding to the home of Levi B. Carter, 28, said he was too drunk to complete a field sobriety test and could barely stand. However, police said he blew a .467 on a preliminary breath test for blood-alcohol content, reports the Press-Citizen.
Those with a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 or higher are considered to have committed a per-se violation of Iowa’s law against operating while intoxicated, notes a Lombardi Law Firm blog post.
