Major Chinese firm Zhong Lun opens office in New York
One of China’s largest law firms has opened an office in New York.
The Zhong Lun Law Firm announced in a press release Tuesday that its new midtown office expects to help both U.S. clients investing or doing business in China and Chinese clients investing or doing business in the U.S.
The new office will be led by two attorneys with law degrees from top American law schools. One, Philip Zhang, is also licensed to practice in the U.S. as well as China.
“As a licensed Chinese lawyer based in New York, I am in an unique position to be a bridge between U.S. companies and entrepreneurs and their counterparts in China,” he says in the release.
The firm, which has more than 700 attorneys on its roster, expects to be able to provide what it describes as “seamless round-the-clock legal service” through its New York office, with the help of 40 other attorneys in its worldwide offices who hold U.S. law degrees.
