Little Top Billing for Justices in Cash Portrayals
Supreme Court justices don’t get much respect, at least when it comes to U.S. currency.
Only two justices have had their likeness on U.S. currency, and both bills are now obsolete, the Daily Beast reports. The publication included the information in a list of “11 wacky Supreme Court facts.”
No. 9 on the list says the two are chief justices John Marshall, who appeared on a $500 bill, and Salmon P. Chase, who appeared on a $10,000 bill.
