Lindsay Lohan Settles $100M Suit Over E*Trade’s Milkaholic Baby
Actress Lindsay Lohan has settled her $100 million lawsuit that claimed the milkaholic baby in an E*Trade ad was modeled after her.
Terms of the settlement were not immediately available, Reuters reports. E*Trade spokeswoman Allison Jeannotte told Reuters in a statement, “It was a simple business decision. We always have to consider the cost and time involved in litigation, and we are pleased to have the matter behind us.”
The targeted ad portrays a baby boy apologizing to his girlfriend via an online video chat for failing to call her the night before. The baby girlfriend replies, “And that milkaholic Lindsay wasn’t over?” The girlfriend’s suspicions prove true, as another baby girl at the boy’s home sticks her head in the frame and says, “Milk-a-what?”
Lohan’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, had claimed the celebrity’s first name brings instant recognition, the same as Oprah or Madonna.
Meanwhile, Lohan faces trouble on another legal front. She recently failed a drug test while on probation in two drunken-driving cases, spurring a judge to issue a warrant for her arrest.
