Like Pilot in Cockpit, Lawyer Needs Low Shelves, Organizer Says
For some attorneys, credenzas work just fine.
But others, like an unidentified trial attorney whom designer Lisa Whited sought to help during a recent law firm job, need an alternative system, reports the New York Times.
Seeing the papers that covered his desk and floor as he prepared a case, she suggested replacing them with low shelves “that would surround him as he worked,” the newspaper writes, “like a pilot in a cockpit, allowing him to reach whatever he needed.”
Senior partners at the firm, however, wouldn’t give up the credenzas, even when Whited argued that her approach would save money by using the trial attorney’s time more efficiently.
For many, a labeler can also be a critical component for leading an organized life, the Times reports in a magazine-length article about the professional help that is available to deal with such situations.
