Lehman Pays $108M in Legal Fees

Lehman Brothers Holdings has paid $108 million in legal fees since it filed for bankruptcy in September, with nearly 60 percent of the total going to its main bankruptcy counsel, Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

The Am Law Daily notes a Bloomberg story on Lehman’s fees for the main part of its bankruptcy filing and supplies the breakdown for law firms. Here are the five top-paid law firms, as of June 30:

Weil Gotshal: $63.7M

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCoy (lead counsel to creditors committee): $17.2 million

Jenner & Block (court-appointed examiner): $6.7million

Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle (special counsel on conflicts issues): $6.4 million

McKee Nelson (special counsel on tax issues): $4 million
