Legal jobs leap upward in August

The legal services sector saw big gains in August.
The legal industry added 4,100 jobs in August, according to seasonally adjusted and revised numbers by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The increase is even greater when compared with August 2018; the legal sector gained 5,700 jobs since the same month last year.
The legal sector had 1,148,100 jobs in August, 1,144,000 jobs in July (revised downward by 200 jobs since last month’s numbers), and 1,144,100 jobs in June.
The August number of legal jobs is the highest in a decade, Law360 reports. The American Lawyer also has coverage of the latest numbers.
