The legal industry gained 1,900 jobs in July, the third month of increases after losing 68,000 jobs in April.

The gain of 1,900 jobs was smaller than gains in May and June, which had respective increases of 6,100 and 7,300 jobs, according to revised and seasonally adjusted numbers released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The legal industry has lost 41,500 jobs since July 2019.

The legal industry had 1,107,600 jobs in July, compared to 1,105,700 jobs in June, 1,098,400 jobs in May, and 1,092,300 jobs in April, according to the current report. Those May and June numbers have been slightly revised since last month’s report.

The April jobs loss was originally set at 64,000 jobs, but the number was revised upward to a loss of 68,000 jobs.
