Legal industry gains 4,500 jobs in January

Legal industry employment is continuing its upward march.
The legal services sector gained 4,500 jobs in January, with total employment surpassing the previous 10-year high set in November.
The legal industry had 1,160,700 jobs in January, according to seasonally adjusted numbers released on Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s an increase of 16,000 jobs from January 2019, when the legal services sector had 1,144,700 jobs.
The number of jobs hit 1,157,100 jobs in November, before dropping to 1,156,200 in December, according to the revised numbers issued on Friday. Both numbers were revised upward from previous reports.
