LeBron James' Mother Sued by Valet Who Says She Slapped Him
LeBron James’ mother is facing legal trouble for allegedly slapping a valet in an altercation that led to her arrest last week.
In a suit (PDF posted by the Miami Herald) filed against Gloria James, Rock Feller Sorel accuses James of verbal abuse and assault, saying he suffered “emotional distress, humiliation, mental anguish (and) loss of capacity for enjoyment of life,” USA Today reports. The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $15,000.
The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. at the Fountainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, according to Local 10. Police say James was clearly intoxicated and slapped Sorel’s face for failing to promptly get her car, the news outlet reports. James was charged with misdemeanor assault, according to USA Today.
James potentially faces one year in prison should she be convicted in Thursday’s case, Local 10 notes.
