A leader of dissolving intellectual property boutique Darby & Darby is headed to Fenwick & West.

David Tellekson, managing principal of Darby’s Seattle office, will head Fenwick’s intellectual property litigation practice in Seattle, according to a press release. A client’s guide (PDF) issued last year by Chambers USA reports that Tellekson has litigated complex intellectual property disputes for more than 25 years, including disputes over Post-it Note adhesive, encryption software and the cholesterol drug Zetia. He joined Darby & Darby in 2003.

Darby & Darby confirmed that it is winding down in a statement issued Friday.

In the Fenwick press release, firm chairman Gordon Davidson said Tellekson “has an excellent reputation in the legal community and possesses the rare qualities of being practical, results-oriented and able to distill complex legal issues down to practical advice to achieve business objectives.”
