Lawyer's skull and crossbones logo gets her evicted
An Oklahoma City lawyer says she was evicted from her office space because she put an unusual skull and crossbones logo on her window.
Criminal defense lawyer Joi McClendon tells KOCO.com she thinks the logo is “fun.” Her landlord, however, didn’t like its association with death, piracy and poison.
McClendon’s logo has scales of justice for eyes and gavels for crossbones.
“I just think it kind of just got blown out of proportion,” McClendon told the broadcast station. “I mean you’ve got [attorney] Chad Moody. He’s got the marijuana leaf all over town and nobody’s up in arms about that. I think people need to not take themselves so seriously.”
Moody ran unsuccessfully in Oklahoma’s Republican primary for governor last year with the slogan, “Vote for God, grass and guns!” He told KOCO.com at the time that his campaign “started out as a joke and turned into something serious.”
