A lawyer has filed a lawsuit that alleges her wedding florist provided wilted and wrong-colored flowers for her reception centerpieces.

The suit by Elana Glatt says the florist used pastel pink and green hydrangeas even though she had specified that they be dark rust and green, the New York Times reports. The flowers, displayed in dusty vases, were also wilted and brown, the suit claimed.

The plaintiff practices under the name Elana Elbogen, according to the newspaper. The suit says her mother-in-law had paid more than $27,000 for the flowers and seeks $400,000 in restitution and damages.

The defendant florist, Stamos Arakas of Posy Floral Design, told the Times he did his best to provide the flowers Glatt wanted, and he has many satisfied customers.

“My father used to tell me, ‘Don’t deal with lawyers,’ ” Arakas said. “Maybe he was right, God bless his soul.”
