Lawyer Collects a Million Campaign Items

A New York lawyer and magazine publisher has collected more than a million items of political memorabilia.

Jordan Wright started collecting at the age of 10 when he grabbed a bunch of Bobby Kennedy for President buttons. Now he his donating his massive collection to a foundation he created to establish a museum in New York City, the New York Times reports. He is also lending several items to the Museum of the City of New York for an exhibition on presidential campaigns.

Wright has also written a coffee table book, Campaigning for President, that includes photos of items such as cans of Gold Water and Johnson Juice, Al Smith socks, and tiny jugs with candidates’ names that were dispensed after whiskey parties for potential voters.
