Lawyer arrested after courthouse security dispute
A California lawyer was arrested Wednesday after a dispute with county sheriff’s deputies at a Fresno courthouse.
Harry Drandell, 57, was booked at the county jail on suspicion of trespass in a public building and resisting arrest, reports the Fresno Bee.
A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said the lawyer argued with deputies around 10 a.m. about scanning his wallet, then refused to leave the courthouse when ordered to do so. A scuffle allegedly ensued when deputies tried to escort him out.
Later in the day, Drandell came back to the courthouse without any issues arising, the spokesman said.
The newspaper could not reach the lawyer to get his side of the story.
