A lawyer ordered to stop dancing around a Bronx courtroom in a flamboyant manner told the New York Post the judge may be showing his “subconscious homophobia.”

Lawyer Robert Feldman, described in the newspaper account as a “boisterously eccentric defense attorney,” said he was chastised by the judge after “gesticulating with [his] hands” during his cross-examination of a police officer.

Judge Richard Lee Price said he wanted to make sure the jury wasn’t distracted by Feldman’s conduct when he told the lawyer, “Making reference to your, what appeared to be dancing as part of your cross-examination and your flamboyant nature as I addressed it, I hope it won’t happen again.”

Price told the Post the homophobia allegation is outrageous. “I do not know or care about Mr. Feldman’s sexual preference,” he said.
