Rudolph Giuliani’s membership in a Texas law firm that lobbies for polluting coal-fired power plants could cause some public relations problems.

The New York Times reports that Bracewell & Giuliani helped raise funds for Giuliani’s GOP presidential bid, but the Houston firm has been criticized for its lobbying against provisions of the Clean Air Act.

Giuliani has supported cleaner coal technology. His campaign told the newspaper he does not engage in energy lobbying and does not develop policy based on the views of law firm clients.
