Latest Law School Ranking Puts Harvard at No. 1, Georgetown No. 2
Harvard Law School can boast that one of its own will soon be leading the country and taking several alums with him. Maybe a new law school ranking putting Harvard on top pales in comparison.
The annual Judging the Law Schools ranking by the Thomas M. Cooley Law School is based mainly on factors culled from the ABA’s Official Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools, TaxProf Blog reports.
Harvard, which was second to Yale on the ranking by U.S. News & World Report, was first on Cooley’s list.
TaxProf Blog published Cooley’s top schools, along with their rank in U.S. News. The Cooley top 10:

- Virginia (9)
- Texas (16)

- Northwestern (9)
- Columbia (4)

- George Washington (20)
TaxProf says many of the factors used in the ranking favor large law schools. They include enrollment, number of applications, number of professors, the size of the library, and the number of 2L and 3L courses.
