King & Spalding is planning to open a new office in Moscow staffed by a five-lawyer team that formerly worked together at Hogan & Hartson.

The group, which now comes to the firm from Hogan Lovells and White & Case, includes Jennifer Josefson, who is in charge of the White & Case oil and gas practice in much of Europe, and four lawyers from Hogan Lovells. The three Hogan Lovells partners include Sergey Komolov, who has been serving as the firm’s deputy office manager and co-chief of the corporate practice in Moscow, according to the Am Law Daily.

Komolov will head the Moscow office for King & Spalding, notes a King & Spalding press release.

“Opening in Moscow, which will occur following receipt of government registration, has … been a widely anticipated next step in the expansion of King & Spalding’s top-ranked international energy practice,” the release states, “and the office will have close ties to the firm’s existing operations in the global energy centers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, Singapore, Houston, London and New York.”
