When Justice Elena Kagan was nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court, supporters praised her for bridging divides as dean of Harvard Law School.

It appears Kagan is aiming to reach out to one of her conservative colleagues, Justice Antonin Scalia, according to a report by the Daily Caller. Two sources told the website that Kagan accompanied Scalia to his Virginia shooting club last week, where he gave her a lesson in skeet shooting.

The story notes that Kagan indicated she was “not sympathetic” to a Second Amendment argument when she clerked for Justice Thurgood Marshall. During her confirmation hearing, she did not comment on recent Supreme Court decisions finding an individual right to own guns.
