Justice O’Connor’s Husband Dies at 79
The husband of retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor has died.
John O’Connor, a lawyer who worked at Miller & Chevalier and Bryan Cave, was 79, according to The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times. He died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
The O’Connors met at Stanford Law School. Justice O’Connor retired from the Supreme Court in part to take care of her husband, but his condition worsened and he moved to a Phoenix Alzheimer’s facility.
The O’Connor family went public about John O’Connor’s condition in 2007 to raise Alzheimer’s awareness. Their family home has been moved to a museum.
