Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg attended a concert dedicated to her life and career Monday evening, her first public appearance since her Dec. 21 surgery to remove cancerous nodules from her lung.
Ginsburg, 85, sat in the back and did not speak, report the Washington Post and the Associated Press.
The concert, sponsored by the National Constitution Center, was at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. The production for high school students was called “Notorious RBG in Song.”
Ginsburg’s daughter-in-law, Patrice Michaels, created the program. A soprano, Michaels also performed.
Ginsburg’s son, James, said before the concert that his mother is walking a mile per day and working out with her personal trainer twice per week, according to the articles.
