Judge Tosses Suit by Injured Jell-O Wrestling Student
A New York judge has thrown out a student’s $1 million suit against New York University for allowing a Jell-O wrestling dorm party where he broke his hip.
Avram Wisnia broke his hip while in a kiddie pool filled with gelatin. He claimed the school should not have sanctioned the event nor permitted its food service to provide the slippery dessert, the New York Daily News reports.
Carol Robinson Edmead ruled that Wisnia was aware of the potential for injury. Said NYU spokesman John Beckman: “This case broke the mold, but all in all, we believe justice was served sweetly.”
