Jenner & Block to open first overseas office; seeks to hire lawyers in London
Known for its litigation, insurance coverage and regulatory enforcement and white-collar defense work, Jenner & Block is opening its first overseas office in London, home of the famed Lloyd’s insurance market.
The 400-lawyer Chicago-based firm is starting in London with two U.S.-based practitioners. It has rented an entire floor of office space and expects to make new hires to fill out its attorney roster, reports Crain’s Chicago Business.
Managing partner Terry Truax said the firm expects steady growth in London over a period of several years.
“This is not a short-term exercise,” he said. “This is a strategic development for the firm.”
Legal Week (sub. req.) reports that a spring opening of the new office is expected.
Jenner also has offices in Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C.
