High-Profile Divorce Trials a 'Refreshing' Change for Veteran Criminal Lawyer
Known as a veteran criminal defense attorney, M. Hatcher “Reese” Norris has suddenly been in the news in recent years for his work on high-profile divorce cases.
His cross-examination and forensic experience, however, are useful in a matrimonial arena in which the facts and even alleged criminal conduct are often central to the case, Norris tells the Connecticut Law Tribune in question-and-answer interview reprinted in New York Lawyer (reg. req.).
His trial skills, for example, helped the wife of Jim Nantz win a spectacular $72,000-per-month alimony award, as Norris cross-examined the famous sportscaster to help show her nonmonetary contributions to their 26-year marriage.
“Our skills translate well to that arena,” says Norris of his new matrimonial practice. “I find it a refreshing change of pace.”
