Heeeeeere's Another Lawsuit! Ed McMahon Owes $275K, Law Firms Say
Adding another lawsuit to the mortgage foreclosure that entertainer Ed McMahon is facing, two New York law firms have reportedly sued the former sidekick to late-night television host Johnny Carson, contending that he owes them over $275,000 in legal fees.
The lawsuit they filed in federal court in Manhattan contends that McMahon, 85, and his wife, Pamela, failed to pay two law firms that represented his daughter, Linda Schmerge, in her divorce from suspended New York attorney Peter Schmerge, according to the Daily News and Reuters.
The two law firms are New York City’s Hartman & Craven and the Sarcone Law Firm, in White Plains.
Meanwhile, the McMahons are fighting a foreclosure action over the $600,000 they reportedly are behind on their $6 million home in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Earlier this month, McMahon filed a medical malpractice suit against a hospital in Los Angeles, according to the Reuters article. He contends its misdiagnosis of a broken neck he suffered in a fall contributed to his financial woes, because he has been unable to work after the accident.
However, McMahon, known for the “Heeeeere’s Johnny!” with which he invariably introduced Carson, recently landed a gig on “Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Daily News reports.
He also reportedly owes American Express $747,000.
