Georgia Lawyer Becomes Chair of ABA House of Delegates
Atlanta lawyer Linda A. Klein began her two-year term as chair of the ABA’s policy-making House of Delegates at the conclusion of the House’s session on Tuesday.
Klein, who is a business dispute resolution lawyer, is Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz’s managing shareholder in the firm’s Georgia offices and a member of the firm’s board of directors.
In 1997, she served as the first female president of the State Bar of Georgia. She has held positions in the ABA House of Delegates and chaired numerous entities in the ABA. She has also been active in the American Bar Foundation and was this year’s recipient of its Fellows Outstanding State Chair Award.
Service as chair of the House of Delegates generally leads to election to a term as president of the ABA. Eleven of the last 12 chairs either have served or are scheduled to serve as president. In two years, immediate past Chair William Hubbard will be eligible to become ABA President-Elect, if he runs and is elected to the post.
