Ferret Autopsy Pending in Minn. Domestic Abuse Case
It appears that prosecutors will have to prove the cause of death of a ferret in a domestic abuse case in Minnesota if it is not resolved before trial.
Authorities filed felony animal cruelty charges today in Hennepin County District Court against a 23-year-old Minneapolis man who allegedly drowned his girlfriend’s pet ferret in its water dish as the two were at odds due to a pending breakup, reports the Star Tribune.
He was charged with two counts of animal torture or cruelty to a companion animal resulting in death. One of the counts alleges that he did so to terrorize a person.
An autopsy of the ferret is pending, the newspaper reports.
