Federal Courthouse to be Named After Slain Arizona Judge
Slain federal Judge John M. Roll will have a new federal courthouse named after him in Yuma, Ariz.
President Barack Obama signed the bill naming a federal courthouse after Roll on Thursday, CNN reports. The bill was introduced by Arizona senators John McCain and Jon Kyl.The courthouse pays tribute to Roll, who was gunned down last month while attending Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ “Congress on Your Corner” event at a Tucson grocery store. Five others were killed, and Giffords was critically wounded.
The courthouse has an anticipated 2013 completion date, with construction expected to begin in July, reports the State Column.
