Ex-Prosecutor Claims DA Fired Him for Being White
A former prosecutor in the Dallas County district attorney’s office has filed a suit that contends he was fired because he was white.
Rick Jackson, who headed the organized crime unit, says he was one of 10 senior prosecutors fired in a shakeup by DA Craig Watkins, the Dallas Morning News reports. Jackson’s lawyer, Matthew Bobo, says more lawsuits are on the way.
“There was absolutely no other reason to terminate or demote these folks other than race,” Bobo told the newspaper. “All of these individuals were all replaced by African-Americans with less experience than they had.”
