Ex Allegedly Outwits NY Tax Attorney in 'Sexcapades' Case
A New York tax attorney has been federally charged with extortion and harassment after allegedly threatening to send a secretly recorded, sexually explicit DVD to an unidentified former lover’s family members if she didn’t e-mail him revealing photos of herself.
Instead of sending the photos, however, the woman reportedly went to the FBI. Steven Klig, a partner at the Deloitte financial firm, is accused of having sent further e-mails to an agent posing as his ex-lover that made similar demands, reports the New York Post.
The 44-year-old married father of two “allegedly began his salacious shenanigans with a letter mailed to the unidentified woman’s home last Oct. 20,” the newspaper writes. “In it, he allegedly said he would turn over the DVD in exchange for a ‘one-time reunion’ and ‘a couple of recent nude pictures of you.’ “
Klig is free on $200,000 bond and is on leave from Deloitte. His lawyer did not respond to a Post request for comment.
It isn’t clear that Klig actually had a DVD of what the Post terms his alleged “past sexcapades” with the woman who complained to the FBI. The Post says Klig used public computers and wireless accounts to contact her, citing unnamed sources.
