Ex-ABA Prez Robert Grey Loses Race for Richmond Mayor
Robert J. Grey Jr., an attorney with Hunton & Williams who formerly served as the president of the American Bar Association, was defeated yesterday in his bid to become the mayor of Richmond, Va.
When it became apparent that he had lost the contest to one of two other candidates, Grey congratulated both of the front-runners in a speech to his supporters, reports the Richmond Times-Leader.
“I want you to know that, as a result of this campaign, I feel more excited about Richmond. I feel more committed to participating in the activities that make this city great,” he also said in the speech at his Carytown campaign headquarters.
As discussed in an earlier ABAJournal.com post, the five-way race was hotly contested.
