Ex-Brobeck Leader Seeks Legal Comeback
The former leader of the dissolved law firm Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison is seeking a return to law practice after a 3½ year hiatus.
Tower Snow Jr. tells the Recorder that he misses San Francisco and law practice and is looking for a job as a securities litigator. The financial downturn is also a factor, he said. “Like everyone else, I’ve been affected by the financial markets. Is that one of a variety of factors? Yes, of course,” he told the publication.
Snow went from Brobeck to Clifford Chance, launching a West Coast office that later closed its doors, the story says. For the last 3½ years, Snow has lived in Napa Valley where he has been raising his daughter as a single father.
The story describes Snow as “controversial and charismatic,” and says many of his critics are former Brobeck lawyers at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. He has more allies at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, now the home of many former Brobeck securities lawyers who jumped with Snow to Clifford Chance.
While Snow is not looking for a spot in management, he told the Recorder it is one of his strong points. “I believe one of my God-given skills is that I’m a builder,” Snow said. “What I’d like to do is practice and help build other people’s practices, and if I can help build other people’s practices or offices on the West Coast, that would be great.”
