Ex-Attorney General Michael Mukasey Joins Debevoise & Plimpton
Michael Mukasey, the former U.S. Attorney General under President George W. Bush, has agreed to join Debevoise & Plimpton as a litigation partner.
Mukasey, 67, who previously spent 20 years on the federal bench in New York City, will be working in a department chaired by Mary Jo White, a former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, reports the Am Law Daily.
His new firm “has built a very strong practice through Mary Jo and others in corporate investigations, white-collar defense, and internal corporate reports to committees, all of which interest me,” the ex-AG tells the law blog. He says he may start at Debevoise as soon as Monday.
