Ex-Arent Fox Partner Acquitted in Obstruction Case Over Claimed Cover-Up in Lawyer's Murder
A former partner at Arent Fox and two other defendants have been acquitted in an obstruction case brought over the unsolved murder of attorney Robert Wone, who was found dead at their Washington, D.C., home in 2006.
Joseph Price, 39, along with Dylan Ward, 39, and Victor Zaborski, 44, were found not guilty this afternoon of obstruction of justice and conspiracy by D.C. Superior Court Judge Lynn Leibovitz, according to the Washington Post’s Post Now blog and WTOP.
Price was also acquitted today of tampering. If convicted, the defendants could have faced more than 30 years in prison.
As detailed in earlier posts, Wone, 32, was a friend of the three housemates and was staying overnight in their home. They contend that he was killed by an unknown intruder; authorities had alleged that they delayed calling police and altered evidence.
The judge said she didn’t believe an intruder broke into the house, but she found that the government didn’t prove the defendants were involved in a cover-up of Wone’s murder.
The three now face a civil suit brought by Wone’s family.
