Ever wonder what happened to legal crusader Erin Brockovich after Julia Roberts earned an Oscar for the role in the major Hollywood motion picture named for her?
The New York Post reports that Brockovich, who took on PG&E and won, has landed a gig as a consultant with New York’s Weitz & Luxenberg, which has a focus on pursuing remedies for asbestos-exposure.
“I’m hands-on, and they’re hands-on, so it will be a team effort,” the Post quotes Brockovich as saying. “I’m very excited.”
Brockovich has worked with the firm in the past. But this is a new and expanded role. Brockovich is already appearing in ads soliciting clients.
The 2000 hit movie Erin Brockovich, depicting a 1996 water pollution case the won a California community a $333 million settlement, was No. 9 on the ABA Journal’s list of the “25 Greatest Legal Movies.”
