DLA Piper Raids Locke Lord Bissell; 8 Restructuring Lawyers Jump Ship
DLA Piper has raided the Chicago office of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, persuading eight attorneys to jump ship and join the megafirm’s office there.
The group, which includes both litigators and corporate lawyers, specializes in corporate bankruptcies and restructuring matters, reports the Chicago Tribune. It includes Timothy Brink, 42, Albert Fowerbaugh Jr., 43; Andrew Gifford, 37; Randall Hack, 48; Matthew Klepper, 37; Forrest Lammiman, 63; Ronald Lepinskas, 40; and Douglass Rohrman, 66. All join as partners except Rohrman, who will serve as counsel to the firm.
Locke Lord Bissell’s chair, Jerry Clements, wished the departing lawyers well and noted that they are the first significant departure since the firm was created in October by the merger of Lord Bissell & Brook, headquartered in Chicago, and Texas-based Locke Liddell & Sapp. The merged firm now has around 700 lawyers.
DLA Piper has some 3,600 lawyers.
