One of the litigators seeking to overturn California’s ban on gay marriage is predicting a Supreme Court win.
David Boies has joined with Ted Olson to challenge California’s Proposition 8 referendum banning gay marriage in the state. In an interview with USA Today, Boies expressed optimism. “I believe we are going to win this case with more than five justices,” he said.
Boies said the decision by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. to uphold the health care law shows “the court’s willingness to take a careful look at issues and not just conform to some people’s view of where they’re going to come out.”
Boies and Olson are scheduled to argue the case on March 26.
