Couple Charged for Loud Kids
A village court judge dropped charges Wednesday against a couple arrested because their children made too much noise in the backyard swimming pool.
Neighbors had complained that Rachel and William Poczatek’s two girls, ages 5 and 11, screamed and yelled for long periods of time, ABC News reports.
Neighbors of the Bayville, N.Y., family said the noise interfered with their own enjoyment of the property.
But the parents say their children aren’t out past 9 p.m. and while they yell, they do not curse.
After other neighbors rallied behind the couple, the judge dropped the charges.
The Poczateks could have faced 15 days in jail and a $250 fine, according to ABC News.
