A convicted rapist accused of breaking free from his restraints in a Cincinnati courthouse meeting room and repeatedly punching his appellate lawyer in the face earlier this month is now facing a new case over the alleged attack.

Tony Pippin, 42, has been indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on charges of escape, assault and retaliation concerning the attack on attorney Roger Kirk, WXIX reports. Pippin is already serving a 24-year prison sentence for rape and faces additional unrelated charges that have not yet been resolved.

“Pippin is an extremely dangerous criminal. He is serving time for the rape of a child and faces many additional rape charges for following women home from a bar and then attacking them in their homes,” prosecutor Joe Deters said in a written statement. “There are no words to describe Pippin. He is a dangerous and evil person.”

Pippin allegedly used a piece of metal to free himself from his restraints before attacking Kirk.
