Convicted kidnapper faces new stalking case after alleged encounters near prosecutor's home
A convicted kidnapper and sex offender is facing a misdemeanor stalking case after multiple alleged encounters with an Oregon prosecutor near her home.
A probable cause affidavit says Multnomah County deputy district attorney Nicole Jergovic first spoke with Shane Vondel Michael Greene, 53, on June 19 or 20. She was walking her dogs, and he petted them and asked her if she was in law enforcement. She said she was, the affidavit alleges, and Greene then shouted at her about a claimed secret indictment, the Oregonian reports.
Jergovic says she saw Greene several more times near her home in the ensuing days, and he on one of these occasions shouted at her, “Hey prosecutor, are you out to get me?”
It isn’t clear if he lives in the area, the article notes.
Arrested by a Portland police officer, Greene is now being prosecuted in Clackamas County to avoid any potential conflict. In addition to the misdemeanor stalking case, he faces a felony methamphetamine possession charge due to police claims that he possessed the drug when he was arrested. He may also be charged with failure to register as a sex offender, authorities said.
The article doesn’t include any comment from Greene or his legal counsel. At last report, he was being held in the Multnomah County jail pending a Thursday court appearance.
