Clifford Chance to Open Kiev Office
Clifford Chance will open an office in the Ukraine capital of Kiev later this year.
Central and Eastern Europe is one of the fastest growing regions for the U.K.-based firm, regional managing partner Michael Cuthbert said in a press release. Leading the new office will be Nick Fletcher, currently managing partner of the Clifford Chance office in Warsaw.
Clifford Chance opened its Moscow office, its first in the region, in 1991. In addition to its Moscow and Warsaw locations, the firm has regional offices in Prague, Budapest and Bucharest.
“Ukraine is the next big market to develop,” Fletcher told Legal Week. “It is a very large market and changing rapidly. Capital markets, banking and real estate work have significantly increased over the last two years since the ‘Orange Revolution.’ “
