Chris Brown Charged with Felony Assault of Rihanna
Singer Chris Brown is facing felony charges of assault and making criminal threats for an alleged attack on his girlfriend, pop star Rihanna.
Brown is expected to be arraigned this afternoon on the charges stemming from the incident that occurred as the couple was driving home from a pre-Grammy Awards party Feb. 8, according to the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times.
A detective’s affidavit says Brown became angry after Rihanna checked his cell phone and found a message from another woman, AP says. The attack splattered blood inside Brown’s rented Lamborghini, according to the affidavit by Los Angeles police Detective De Shon Andrews.
The affidavit says Brown tried to shove Rihanna out of the car, but he couldn’t do it because she was wearing a seatbelt, the stories say. The document alleges Brown pushed Rihanna’s head against the car window, punched her, bit her ear, tried to choke her and threatened to kill her.
