Chadbourne & Parke Continues Its In-House Hiring Spree
Chadbourne & Parke has hired two more in-house executives for its intellectual property division, the latest in a series of such hires.
The National Law Journal and a press release identify the two hires as:
• Stephen Manetta, an electrical engineer and lawyer who is the former head of the IP department at General Electric’s oil and gas division. Manetta was a partner at the dissolved law firm Morgan & Finnegan.
• Rajappan “B.G.” Balagopal, a registered patent agent who is former vice president for technology and intellectual property management at the Walt Disney Co.
Walter Hanchuk, co-chairman of Chadbourne’s IP practice, told the NLJ that the firm’s decision to hire from in-house legal departments is “clearly by design.” He expects the firm will make similar hires in other industries.
