Belly Dancers Among Protesters Outside Supreme Court
Belly dancers are among the protesters outside the U.S. Supreme Court awaiting today’s ruling on the health care law.
Amy Howe of SCOTUSblog notes the belly dancers and reports that “it’s nuts outside the building.” The dancers are part of a group known as Belly Dancers for Single Payer,” according to the New York magazine blog the Daily Intel.
“Seemingly everyone has something at stake in today’s Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare, and that apparently includes the powerful belly dancing lobby,” the Daily Intel says. The group hopes that the insurance mandate will be struck down and replaced by a single payer system of health care financing by the federal government.
